Acetic Acid Ear Irrigations

Items Needed

  • Water
  • White Vinegar
  • One bulb syringe

Directions

  1. Bring one cup of water to a boil
  2. Remove from heat
  3. Add one cup of white vinegar
  4. Let cool to body temperature (cold or hot water may cause dizziness)
  5. With tip of bulb syringe just inside the ear, irrigate the ear or ears 1-2 times per day using about 2 bulbs full of solution per ear
  6. Follow with drops (if ordered)

Irrigations could burn as the infection clears. Stop irrigations if burning occurs.
