Speech Services

Capitol Ear, Nose & Throat's Speech-Language Pathologists provide a full range of diagnostic and rehabilitative services. Our Speech-Language Pathologists are licensed and certified by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association, as well as the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology.

Speech Services Include:

Articulation and Phonology
Articulation treatment is designed to improve the dynamic production of specific sounds (e.g. /k/ in "cup")
Aural Rehabilitation for Children with Hearing Loss
Treatment designed to assist individuals with auditory disabilities to realize their optimal potential in communication
Fluency
Therapy to improve the fluent, smooth and effortless flow of words
Voice
Therapy designed to eliminate vocal noise and to promote use of an optimal voice without injury
Oral Motor Skills
Therapy designed to improve the physiological aspects of speech production (i.e. improve range of motion and placement accuracy of the tongue, lips, cheeks, jaw and/or palate)
Language
Therapy designed to improve the understanding and/or social use of language for the purpose of communicating to inform of ideas, needs and desires
